چکیده
The OCT angiograms showed reduced CNV flow area and CNV vessel loss following treatment. Because retinal vessel density did not decrease, reduced areas of CNV flow likely represent therapeutic effect. Optical coherence tomographic angiography can also be used to evaluate blood flow of the choriocapillaris. In healthy eyes, the choriocapillaris appears confluent on OCTangiograms.4 In this case, areasof reducedchoriocapillaris flow were noted. Choroidal ischemia has been proposed as a precursor to CNV.6 Further study is needed to determine whether reduced choriocapillaris flow is associated with chronic CSC and whether it may increase risk of CNV development.

A systematic review of methods of eye irrigation for adults and children with ocular chemical burns.
AIM To present the best available research evidence on eye irrigation methods for ocular chemical burns to facilitate better-informed clinical decisions. METHODS Randomized, quasi-randomized controlled trials and observational studies comparing the effectiveness of eye irrigation methods among adults or children as an active form of emergency treatment for ocular chemical burns were reviewed....
متن کاملTopical steroid use in the treatment of ocular alkali burns.
BACKGROUND Ocular alkali burns can be associated with a poor visual outcome. The release of collagenases and proteases after the injury leads to corneoscleral melting. The role of topical steroids in such patients is controversial as they have been postulated to exacerbate corneoscleral melting. METHODS 30 patients were reviewed retrospectively after admission to King's College Hospital with ...
متن کاملOcular injury with xylene--a report of two cases.
Xylene is a hydrocarbon solvent found in various industrial preparations such as paint and is widely used in pathology laboratories. When inadvertently instilled into the eye significant ocular injury can occur with the potential for blindness. Such injuries to the ocular surface resemble those due to alkali. Ocular surface injury due to xylene has not been reported previously in the literature...
متن کاملTopical ascorbate decreases the incidence of corneal ulceration after experimental alkali burns.
A double-masked study of the effects of topical ascorbate on alkali burns utilized 37 rabbit eyes subjected to 20 sec, 12 mm, IN sodium hydroxide burns. Preliminary studies established the ocular acceptability, penetrability, and stability of the solutions used. Eighteen eyes in the experimental group were given two drops of10% ascorbate in Adsorbotear vehicle hourly for 14 hr of each day. Nine...
متن کاملLimbal allografting from living-related donors to treat partial limbal deficiency secondary to ocular chemical burns.
OBJECTIVE To evaluate outcomes of limbal allograft transplantation from living-related donors to treat partial limbal deficiency secondary to ocular chemical burns. METHODS Retrospective noncomparative case series comprising 17 patients (17 eyes) with partial limbal deficiency (≤50%) secondary to ocular alkali burns (11 eyes) or acid burns (6 eyes). Recipient eyes were treated by removing the...
